Required Skills and Experience
Mechanical experience of 3-5 years troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing all types of construction equipment preferred
Possess an appropriate tool set for the position
Experience in Electrical, Hydraulic, and Diesel Engine preferred
Tractor/trailer air brake systems very helpful
Welding and fabrication is a plus
Valid driver's license
Current medical card
Excellent verbal and written English communication abilities
Physical exertion required. Including, but not limited to, walking, standing, stooping, bending and lifting up to 90 pounds
Frequent exposure to the elements
Responsibilities
Perform minor and major repairs on gas and diesel engines, complex hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and drivetrains to include manual and power shift transmissions on equipment and trucks
Assist in training new mechanics, as requested by supervisor
Troubleshoot/diagnose malfunctions and repair equipment
Perform novice level welding repairs (MIG & SMAW)
Inspect, service, and test equipment, ensuring performance to manufacturer specifications
Perform routine service on equipment which includes checking fluid levels, changing fluid and lubricating
Maintain all decals, safety warnings and company ID stickers.
Prepare/maintain accurate records on the maintenance and repair of equipment
Maintain accurate warranty records
Complete accurate parts orders
Notify Branch Manager or designee of damaged equipment or warranty situations prior to initiating repair
Maintain company equipment - keep in clean, orderly condition
Maintain work area and equipment
Accurately manage inventory
Maintain a safe working environment
Attend technical classes to ensure compliance with standards
May perform other duties as assigned
