Maintenance Mechanic

We are looking for a Maintenance Mechanic who will join our team in the Suffolk County , NY area.

What you’ll do in this role:

• Performs repair and preventative maintenance on equipment and machines including electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic repairs and troubleshooting

• Read, interpret and update PLC ladder programs, electrical/mechanical blueprints, schematics, and flow diagrams.

• Restore system operating PLC programs, HMI programs, and verify correct software revisions/editions.

• Record maintenance activities, develop and execute job plans, and communicate new procedures used in day to day operations.

• Troubleshooting, conveyor maintenance, flow box repair and proactive maintenance techniques, welding experience required.

• Provide leadership and serve as a technical resource to associates who operate and run machinery.

• Discipline to prioritize workload and direct others. .

• Comply with housekeeping and safety rules.

• Perform or assist in the installation of machinery and equipment as needed including fabrication

• Diagnose malfunctions in machinery and equipment.

• Inspects and adjusts equipment.

• Operate production equipment to validate improvements and support production needs.

• Operate heavy equipment and perform other duties as assigned.

• Keep the work area clean, orderly and safe.

What you’ll need to be successful:

• High School diploma or equivalent.

• Technical certification or degree in electronics or electrical maintenance/discipline.

• 4 plus years in manufacturing or industrial maintenance, equipment repair, or electrical repair.

• Electrical troubleshooting, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic repair experience.

• Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.

• Able to operate electrical, electronic industrial compressors.

• Fabrication / Welding experience

• Personal computer skills and experience with maintenance systems.

• Clean background and driving record (checks are required).

• Ability to communicate effectively with vendors and customers as needed.

• Knowledge of maintenance and safety procedures, as it relates to LOTO, confined space, welding, flammable storage and handling.

• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds on an as-needed basis.

• Must be able to stand, sit, walk, stoop and bend for extended periods of time.

• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Must be able to work the required shift.

• Must be able to work overtime.

• May be required to have his own set of tools.

•  Be able to learn and keep records in a CMMS system (maintenance program )
